Join us as we welcome Chico based DJ, DJ Eclectic to LEX Nightclub. From a very young age DJ Eclectic has been immersed in the music world. At 10 years of age he picked up his first real instrument. From there he went on to branch out to other instruments in the world of classical music and Jazz. After having played at concerts, shows, and exhibitions he looked for a more open format and something with an endless capacity for creativity. When he landed on two turntables and a mixer he had found his calling. DJ Eclectic now resides in Chico, CA and has 4 local residencies and you can catch him Party-Rockin’ anywhere from San Francisco to Tahoe.
We had the opportunity to ask him a few questions. Check out our exclusive interview with him below.
Q: Who influenced you to become a DJ?
A: Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak, DJ AM and now artists like Diplo, Derro and Dillon Francis influence me to produce.
Q: What excites you the most about DJing at LEX Nightclub?
A: I love the room design, lighting, and amazing sound! I get there all of the staff is welcoming and friendly and the customers are ready to DANCE!
Q: If you could be stuck in one decade’s music scene which decade would it be?
A: The roaring 20’s. I got my Start into Music classically trained since I was 10 years old and then acquired an insatiable taste for Jazz and Big Band. The whole culture and music scene back then was amazing. Also, the 90’s were DOPE!
Q: What is one track that never gets old no matter how many times you hear it?
A: Anything by Selena Quintanilla or Kumbia Kings
Q: Who is your favorite non-DJ artist?
A: The whole Bay Area has amazing artists, but I’m going to have to say Tupac Shakur for the amazing lyricist and Poet that he was!
